We finally have our first official image from the Jason Momoa starring thriller, Sweet Girl. Netflix released the image today along with featuring the movie in their sizzle reel for summer movies. Momoa stars as Cooper, a devastated husband still reeling from the death of his wife. He vows to bring justice to the people responsible while protecting the only family he has left, his daughter (Isabela Merced). Sweet Girl also features the likes of Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Adria Arjona, Justin Bartha, Michael Raymond-James, Raza Jaffrey, and Amy Brenneman. It’s one of the many Netflix original movies debuting this summer, and the streamer has officially released its first look at the project.
On Tuesday, Netflix revealed both the first official Sweet Girl image, as well as its release date. The picture shows Momoa’s Cooper in the woods at night, while Merced watches him from the door of their car. Might he have found a lead on his wife’s killers, or are they merely on the run? Sweet Girl will be released on Netflix on August 20. Check out the picture down below.
Jason Momoa is set to produce and star in the revenge thriller, Sweet Girl, for the streaming service Netflix. Momoa reunites with Brian Andrew Mendoza, Brad Peyton and Jeff Fierson from his time on the Frontier television show (on Netflix and Discovery Canada) and the Braven movie.
In addition to Momoa, Brad Peyton and Jeff Fierson of ASAP Entertainment will also produce for Sweet Girl.
