Actor Jason Momoa may perhaps be best known for his portrayal of the Dothraki Warlord Khal Drogo on HBO’s Game of Thrones television show. He appeared in the first season of the show, which just ended it’s 8th and final season this past Sunday. Actress Emilia Clarke portrayed Danaerys AKA Dany AKA Khaleesi…Drogo’s wife and the Dothraki queen. Even though, spoiler, his character dies in the first season, Momoa has remained steadfast friends with Clarke and followed her story arc on the show over the last eight seasons.
He has also stayed in touch with show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, most recently participating in a prank on the Jimmy Kimmel Show.
Jason Momoa has been in Budapest filming for his role of Duncan Idaho in the Dune 2020 reboot. He took to his Instagram account on Monday night to live-stream while he watched the Game of Thrones finale. He took the opportunity to thank the show creators for casting him and to Emilia Clarke for her part in the show. Going into the finale, Jason knew nothing (Jon Snow!), while most people who had already seen the finale knew about a certain major spoiler character death. As expected, Jason went full Drogo when he saw what happened to his beloved Khaleesi and perfectly summed up what many fans of the show felt.
