Jason Momoa Lands Role in Apple’s TV Show ‘See’

Actor Jason Momoa is returning to television in a leading role for the Apple series, See.  The news broke on Tuesday, but details are scarce at this point.

According to The Hollywood Reporter…

See is described as an epic, world-building drama set in the future. Momoa will star in a lead role as Baba Voss, who is a fearless warrior, leader and guardian. Additional details about the eight-episode project are being kept under wraps.

Written by Oscar nominee Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Peaky Blinders), Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Red Sparrow) will direct the series. Knight and Lawrence will executive produce the Chernin Entertainment/ Endeavor Content effort alongside the company’s Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Kristen Campo.

Jason is no stranger to television, having starred in programs like North Shore and Baywatch Hawaii as a teenager and then later gaining notoriety on Game of Thrones and Frontier as an adult.

UPDATE: According to The Province, the show is scheduled to start filming in Canada on September 17th.

See, according to the Director’s Guild of Canada production list, is scheduled to start production in Vancouver on Sept. 17.

Apple has not revealed when — or how — the show will be streamed to viewers.

In recent days Jason has been posting on Instagram about getting back into shape for a new job, so it’s only a matter of time before they start filming.
